For reviewers

What we sell. And what we don’t.

This page exists for anyone who needs to classify this business — payment-processor and ad-platform reviewers, banks, lawyers, regulators. It is deliberately plain.

getcryptocoin (operated by Steven Tobin, a sole trader in England) is a software developer. We sell downloadable software — source code the buyer runs on their own server — and related software-engineering services, priced and billed in GBP. Everything ships configured for testnet: the demonstration coins involved have no monetary value, are not traded anywhere, and cannot be exchanged for money. On delivery the buyer becomes the operator of whatever they run, under their own brand, infrastructure and jurisdiction. We retain no operational connection to — and no financial interest in — anything a buyer launches.

We sell

  • Blockchain software (source code)

A proof-of-work blockchain node derived from the open-source Litecoin codebase, delivered as source code and Docker tooling the buyer compiles and runs on their own server. Configured for testnet operation.

  • Stratum server software

A Python implementation of the Stratum protocol that the buyer can run against their own testnet chain, with a JSON statistics endpoint. Software only — we do not operate mining services for buyers.

  • Block explorer software

A web application for browsing the buyer’s own testnet chain, backed by the open-source electrs indexer.

  • Android wallet software (non-custodial, source code)

A mobile wallet application built on the open-source Bitcoin Dev Kit, delivered as source code plus a compiled APK. Non-custodial: keys are generated and held by the device owner. We never hold, transmit or have access to anyone’s keys or funds.

  • Website software

A static marketing/dashboard website (Astro source code) the buyer rebrands and hosts themselves.

  • Faucet software

A small HTTP service that distributes free testnet coins (which have no monetary value) so a buyer’s test network can be exercised.

  • Software engineering services

Branding, configuration and bespoke development of the above, priced in GBP and contracted in writing.

  • Software support plans

Recurring email/response-time support for the software, billed monthly in GBP.

We do not sell or operate

  • Cryptocurrency, tokens or any cryptoasset — nothing we sell carries or represents monetary value

  • Initial coin offerings (ICOs), token sales or token launch services

  • Exchange, brokerage, dealing or trading services of any kind

  • Custody — we never hold customer funds, coins or private keys

  • Wallet hosting or any hosted financial service

  • Mining services, hash power or hosted mining — we sell software, not mining

  • Payment processing or money transmission

  • Investment products, advice or anything marketed with reference to profit, yield or return

Regulatory position, in brief

  • UK FCA / Money Laundering Regulations: we provide neither of the two registrable cryptoasset activities (cryptoasset exchange provision; custodian wallet provision). We sell software; we do not exchange cryptoassets for money as a service, and we never safeguard anyone’s assets or keys.
  • UK FSMA s21 (financial promotion): nothing on this site invites or induces investment activity. All copy is factual software-sale framing; we make no claims of profit, yield or return, and testnet coins carry no monetary value.
  • Consumer law: digital content is delivered with express consent to immediate delivery captured at checkout, including acknowledgment that the 14-day cancellation right ends when the download begins (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg 37). Paid bundles include a disclosed licence-validation mechanism, set out in the Operator Licence.
  • Buyer obligations: a buyer who later issues a real cryptoasset becomes the issuer/operator under their own jurisdiction’s rules — stated in our terms, the Operator Licence, and at checkout.
